Gmote turns your Android Phone into a PC Remote

Gmote icon - Ongoing Issues ImageGmote are now offering Android users the ability to add this, useful?, App to your device.  With Gmote you can control your PC’s music, videos and even browse the file system.  You can also your device as a Keyboard and Mouse.

There is a three step download procedure.  This includes loading the Gmote software on both your device and desktop/laptop.  It will work with Mac, Linux and Windows and you will also need to install VLC:

Security Advisory for Flash Player, Adobe Reader and Acrobat

Adobe Logo Ongoing Issue imageAdobe released the following security alert:

critical vulnerability exists in Adobe Flash Player and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris operating systems, and the authplay.dll component that ships with Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.x for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX operating systems. This vulnerability (CVE-2010-1297) could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild against both Adobe Flash Player, and Adobe Reader and Acrobat. This advisory will be updated once a schedule has been determined for releasing a fix.


Opera 10.6 even faster

Opera Logo ongoing issue graphicOpera 10.6 Alpha is being reported as being even faster with Tab and Windows 7 focused improvments.

Opera are saying that they have increased performance by 50%.

Google ditch Windows

Trash Windows ongoing issue imageThe FT are reporting that Google have turned their backs on Windows and are giving their users a choice of Mac’s or Linux PC’s.  Here at Ongoing Issues we know what we would choose, but this is an interesting report.

It is reported that they are doing this for security issues.
