Apple Software Update: iTunes 10.5.3

Apple Update Icon - Ongoing Issue GraphiciTunes 10.5.3 allows you to sync interactive iBooks textbooks to your iPad. These Multi-Touch textbooks are available for purchase from the iTunes Store on your Mac or from the iBookstore included with iBooks 2 on your iPad.

iBooks textbooks are created with iBooks Author — now available as a free download on the Mac App Store.

Google Launch Google Currents

Google Currents Logo - Ongoing Issues grabGoogle have launched a new service and App called Google Currents.  It is their magazine like content reader that brings to your iPhone, iPad, Android tablet or phone online and high speed offline reading.  Google offer a number of free optimised online magazines and other content.  Check out the video below:

Skype Logo Ongoing IssuesSkype design VP Rick Osterloh has confirmed the development of a Skype app for the iPad.  Where as we would have been exited about this in the past, we can’t help but feel a little disheartened due to the fact Microsoft now have their hands on Skype.  We and a lot of people are calling this the end to an amazing product!

Introducing iTunes in the Cloud beta. The music you purchase in iTunes appears automatically on all your devices. You can also download your past iTunes purchases. Where you want, when you want.

• Automatic Downloads. Purchase music from any device or computer and automatically download a copy to your Mac and iOS devices.

• Download Previous Purchases. Download your past music purchases again at no additional cost. Your purchases are available in the iTunes Store on your Mac or in the iTunes app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they are no longer on the iTunes Store.

iTunes 10.3 also adds Books to the iTunes Store, where you can discover and buy your favorite books on your computer and automatically download them to iBooks on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This version also allows you to use Automatic Downloads with apps and books or download previously purchased apps and books from your computer or iOS device.

News reader licks iPad

Here is another great April Fools day joke.  A news reader on Fox 5 was fooled into licking an iPad screen to test the new technology “piezo-electrics.”  The app was told to emit both smell and taste.  Although she had a hunch it couldn’t be true, she gave it a go:
