Mac Software Update: Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 12

Java have released that long awaited and needed security update for Java.  Check out the details below:

Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 12 delivers improved security, reliability, and compatibility by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_39.

On systems that have not already installed Java for Mac OS X 10.6 update 9 or later, this update will configure web browsers to not automatically run Java applets. Java applets may be re-enabled by clicking the region labeled “Inactive plug-in” on a web page. If no applets have been run for an extended period of time, the Java web plug-in will deactivate.

Please quit any web browsers and Java applications before installing this update.

20 vulnerability fixes for Shockwave Player

Adobe have released 20 vulnerability fixes for it’s Shockwave Player.  The vulnerabilities are in versions of Shockwave Player up to version 11.5.7.609 for both Apple’s Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.

Patch your iOS with the latest security update from Apple

Apple promised last week two patches to address security issues, iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iPod touch and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad.  So if you haven’t connected your iPhone or iPod Touch to iTuned for a while, now may be the time.
